- Initial setup. A handler, 1, starts with the disc near the sideline. D1 puts on a line-trap force. In this example, D1’s left hand is the ‘force’ hand (nothing gets passed it), while the right hand is the ‘pressure’ hand. A reset, 2, stands 5-8m away, perpendicular to the sideline, facing 1, marked by D2.
- 2 makes a dump cut and 1 resets the disc. The job of the reset defender D2 is to stop the upline cut (positioning their body between the dump and the sideline and not biting on the swing fake) The job of the disc marker D1 is to prevent the around-break. This means positioning themselves with a foot either side of the ‘back-field’ foot and not biting on the IO break. The body positioning of D2 should also prevent an IO throw to an upfield player. Note that 2 can make any cut they want, and can also make multiple cuts. See all the options in the pre-requisite.
