- The offence uses a dump and swing. Alternatively, O1 can also swing directly to the breakside if there is a hole in the cup. Note: While the aim is for the cup to prevent this movement, a member of the cup being slightly out of position can allow these throws to occur.
- In this situation, it is critical for the wings and deep to contain the offensive threats until the cup can catch up and regain control. The safest way for the wings and deep to control the threats is to match up on the deepest threats in the middle of the field and on the sideline that the disc is on, as short disc movement is more likely to allow the cup to catch up than a longer throw down the field.
- The cup then needs to catch up and regain control as quickly as possible. Note: The cup should move into the middle of the field, rather than trying to chase the disc.
- The cup can get into position again and continue trapping the handler.
