- Initial setup. A handler, 1, starts with the disc in the middle of the width of the field. A cutter, 2, starts at the back of the stack, approximately 8-12m directly downfield from 1. Another cutter, 3, stands directly in front of 2, and a third cutter, 4, stands directly in front of 3. The rest of the cutters line up in the stack, with the front player no closer than 5m to 1.
- The two players at the back of the stack - 2 and 3 - make decisive cuts underneath, one each to either side of the field; it doesn’t matter who goes to which side. The aim of this is to drag the deepest defenders underneath.
- The player now at the back of the stack - 4 - is likely to be fronted, and so should have a free line to the endzone. 4 cuts directly deep through the gap for the throw from 1. Alternatively, throw to 2 or 3 for a gain on the under cut.
