- Initial setup. A handler, 1, starts with the disc around 10m in from a sideline. A defender, D1, applies a straight up mark. A cutter, 2, starts in a central position. 2 is guarded by D2, who starts behind 2. A continuation cutter, 3, stands 10m further downfield from 2.
- A throws inside or around an overcommitted marker D1. PIvoting forwards will often give a one-step advantage over your marker, while pivoting backwards will get them to give you a bigger margin by over-committing; see https://www.flikulti.com/theory/essentials/throwing/breaking-the-mark/pivots-and-the-limits-of-marking/ See related drill: https://www.flikulti.com/drills/cut-underneath-break/
- 1 immediately runs downfield while D1 is out of position. 2 returns the disc via a dish pass. See related drill: https://www.flikulti.com/drills/dish-open-side/
- 1 throws to 3 before D1 can catch up. See related drill: https://www.flikulti.com/drills/inside-throw-to-lateral-cut/
