Sideline Wrinkle
Sideline Wrinkle: A handler, 1, starts with the disc near the sideline. A reset, 2, stands 5-8m away, perpendicular to the sideline.
- Initial setup. A handler, 1, starts with the disc near the sideline. A reset, 2, stands 5-8m away, perpendicular to the sideline.
- 1 begins with the disc near the sideline. 2 sets up perpendicular to the sideline facing 1.
- 2 cuts towards 1. This is done to get used to moving a defender; carrying momentum makes defending this cut harder.
- 2 cuts up the line. This sets up more space to make the wrinkle.
- 2 turns and cuts slightly backwards and across the width of the field, making sure to keep facing 1 during the turn. In our example, this would mean turning off the right leg. This is done to ensure that the defender – if present – is kept away from the area that A is going to throw into. 1 should turn to face the middle of the field and throw a leading pass into the centre of the field for 2 to run on to. - Option 1 - 2 throws continuation to a static receiver, 3.
- Option 2 - 2 throws continuation to a cutter, 3, coming underneath. See related drill: https://www.flikulti.com/drills/cut-underneath-open/
- Option 3 - 2 throws continuation to a cutter, 3, going away. See related drill: https://www.flikulti.com/drills/diagonal-away-throw-to-straight-cut/
