Poaching the Lanes
Poaching the Lanes: Players 1, 2 and 3 set up as three handlers. Defenders D1, D2 and D3 set up as chase and two players in the lanes in front of the disc.
- Initial setup. Players 1, 2 and 3 set up as three handlers. Defenders D1, D2 and D3 set up as chase and two players in the lanes in front of the disc.
- Offence 1, 2 and 3 swing the disc between them, and try to make aggresive up line cuts. D1, D2, D3 must not let the disc get ahead of them and should try to get blocks on yard-gaining passes.
- Imagine 3 does get the disc on that forward cut, D2 must follow as chase, and D1 and D3 reset in the lanes, still looking to prevent the disc moving forward.
- If a handler, 1, attacks ahead of the disc and remains in the cutting space, the tip, D1, must mark him until 1 moves behind the chase.
- The tip should then return to his position in the lane, assuming 1 to have been picked up by the mullet. Handlers should reset the disc, and attack forward for a couple of minutes, giving the defender chance to move as an arrow in response to threats. Then switch O and D.
