- Initial setup. Place a marker cone for the disc in a central position. Place another marker cone where D2 will stand; for the purpose of this drill, we want to ensure that 2 has a clear path towards the centre of the pitch. 3 needs to be further downfield on the open side, and 4 and 5 take up position in the middle of the field, where the back of the stack would be.
- 2 cuts laterally and receives the disc from 1. D1 should only apply a light mark here. See related drill: https://www.flikulti.com/drills/offset-lateral-cut/
- 2 receives the disc heading to the break side. 4 cuts under. It is vital that 2 pivots towards their own goal line while looking to hit 4; this forces the marker D2 to take a longer path in stopping this throw. See related drill: https://www.flikulti.com/drills/offset-lateral-cut/
- Scenario 1 - 2 continues to 4. See related drill: https://www.flikulti.com/drills/cut-underneath-open/
- Scenario 2 - D2 is able to prevent continuation to 4, so 3 begins their cut. 2 has already created space through pivoting and faking the previous option to 4. For more info, see https://www.flikulti.com/theory/vertical-stack/cyclone/cyclone-pivoting-action/
- 2 pivots directly downfield and throws to 3. See related drill: https://www.flikulti.com/drills/offset-lateral-cut/
- 3 continues to 5 cutting underneath. See related drill: https://www.flikulti.com/drills/cut-underneath-open/
